We made it through the first full day of school! I dropped both kids off this morning and was back home by 8:00. As I walked into the house and looked around, it felt strange! There was no noise.... no arguing, no yelling, no tattling, no whining, no rough housing, ABSOUTLATLY NOTHING! So then the question arises, do I sit and enjoy the peace and quiet and do nothing or do I clean in peace? I decided on a combination. I cleaned a LITTLE and then caught up on all my favorite shows on DVR. I know after this week, I will be back at work and everything will be in 90 to nothing mode so I will soak up the free time while I have it!
Brendon came home at noon and we proceded to take a nap before going to get Landyn, who doesn't get out until 3:00 this year. He is such a great snuggle buddy. After a little nap, we loaded up and headed to CA. I have to say that again I found myself feeling strange! I was sitting in a carpool line for the FIRST time! It was exciting but sad! I pulled through and Landyn got in the car BOASTING about her day! She was so excited. She started talking the minute she opened the door and didn't stop until we got home. She did manage to get out that she stayed on green all day, which is a good thing, since she likes to talk too much at times. :) Apparently they have a green, yellow, red system because she said, "2 people got on yellow today and that means you almost have to go see the principal." She then starts handing me papers out of her backpack....one after another....telling me she needs to sell some cookie dough so she can get this sticky lizzard toy! REALLY....ALREADY....FUNDRAISING! To add to it, she then all of a sudden has a MELT DOWN because she tells me the fundraising papers go in the refrigerator next to the milk. I tried to explain to her that they are papers and papers don't have to be in the refrigerator! She lost it and this point and told me that "somebody" told her that she had to put it in the refrigirator next to the milk! Thank you "somebody"! Try explaining to a 6 year old that they were just saying that so that it would be in a place that we wouldn't forget about it but that it didn't really mean it had to refrigerated. Some battles just aren't worth fighting so I just finally said OKAY, in the refrigerator they will go! So....if anyone would like to help Landyn get her lizzard she wants before we have ANOTHER melt down over FUNDRAISING...please go to gafundraising.com and enter account number 1079102 and enter Landyn Murphy and then SHOP AWAY! It is mainly cookie dough, wrapping paper, gift bags, magazines, candy, etc! Cute though!
Thank you in advance for your help with our first FUNDRAISER on our first full day of SCHOOL!
